Thank you for considering Walmer West Primary School for your child. We are grateful that you are applying to our school, but do ask you to keep in mind that we have many learners applying annually to be enrolled at Walmer West Primary School, but unfortunately only a few places are available. We therefore suggest that you apply to at least four (4) other schools as well.
Transport is an important consideration when applying at Walmer West Primary. We do not provide transport for learner. Please make sure that you are able to arrange transport to and from school timeously before submitting an application.
To apply to our school, we ask you to assemble and prepare information and a variety of materials that will help us assess your application qualification. Remember, all materials must be submitted online or in office by administration by the application deadlines. The following serves as a preview of what you need to prepare.

Step 1 - Complete Admission Application
- Please complete the Application Form and return that, with all the required documents to the office of Walmer West Primary School by 31 May 2024. Alternatively, you can download the application form online and submit by 31 May 2024. (LIMITED SPACE IN ALL GRADES)
- No late submission will be accepted
- Your application will only be considered if the following documents are included:
1. Copy of Birth Certificate of the Learner
2. Copy of Clinic Card for the Learner
3. I.D. photograph of the Learner
4. Latest report card/letter from previous school
5. Copies of ID document of BOTH parents/guardians
6. Copies of payslip for BOTH parents/guardians
7. Proof of residential address
8. Death certificate (if any parent is deceased)
9. Work/Study permit if a foreigner

Step 2 - Shortlisting and Interviews
- If your child is shortlisted on the basis of the Walmer West Primary School Admissions Policy, you could be contacted telephonically by 31 July 2024 and requested to come in for an interview.
- Both the parents and the learner must attend the interviews.
- Kindly bear in mind that not all applicants are contacted for interviews.
- An admission to an interview does not secure nor guarantee placements placement at Walmer West Primary School. Interviews are am integral part of the application process and should not be considered as a successful admission to the school.

Step 3 - Post-Interview Feedback and Communication
- All applications (whether successful or not) will be responded to via post.
- Should you have had a successful interview, you will again be contacted telephonically to report to the school office to sign a letter of acceptance and pay a facility fee of R1 500.00 within thirty (30) day of acceptance.
